(CNN)– Fans flocked to the movies to say goodbye to Stranger Things. Variety, citing sources is reporting theaters earned at least $25 million for showing the finale of the Netflix series on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The final episode had debuted simultaneously on Netflix and in roughly 600 theaters.

The second volume of the eight-episode season drops Dec. 25 at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). On Monday, the Duffer Brothers shared the final runtimes for the last half of the final season. Here's the breakdown of the episodes dropping on Christmas Day: The series finale arrives on New Year's Eve on Dec. 31.

The show, which ran for nine years, aired its final season in three installments, which were respectively released on Nov. 26, 2025; Dec. 25, 2025; and Dec. 31, 2025. The "Stranger Things" documentary will be released on Netflix, as did the series.
