Tier I Hockey (AAA) is to provide an opportunity for the best Michigan youth players to develop and compete at the highest level of hockey available in the United States. All invitational tournaments held in Michigan must secure a sanction and sanction number from the MAHA before a tournament is advertised or promoted or any tournament fees collected.
In order for a team to be eligible for this event they must participate in at least one MAHA run or District run jamboree (complete list of eligible events of the registration form) so their ability level can be judged for proper placement in the tournament.

MAHA probably offers one the most the most diverse programs in the country, with teams and programs at almost every level there is. MAHA affiliates also present opportunities for junior hockey, disabled hockey, adult men and women leagues.
MAHA teams can post their tryouts on the MAHA website. The team contact simply fills out the registration form and the tryouts are posted throughout the time frame established by the team.
